Prof. Ephraim W. Wahome, immediate former chair, Department of History and  Archaeology, has been appointed the new Associate Dean Faculty of Arts.

Mr. Shigeji Maenda, the Director of Rakueisha Co. Ltd, Japan donated film equipments to the Department of Literature on 2nd February, 2015. The equipments will help a great deal in promoting teaching of Film Studies in the Department.

The Department has established collaboration with Rakueisha Co., where students from the Department are offered internship. One student has so far benefitted from the programme.

The Faculty Management Board under the leadership of the newly elected Dean Prof. Peter Wasamba held its first meeting on Wednesday, 28th January, 2015. Also present was the Associate Dean, Prof. Rayya Timmany, chairs of departments, Faculty of Arts Senate Representative, NURSA Chairman and administrative staff from the Faculty.

Prof.  Peter A. Wasamba was elected as the Dean, Faculty of Arts on 15th December, 2015.

Prof. Wasamba replaces Prof. Preston Chitere whose term expired on January  16, 2015.

In his maiden speech, the Dean read Psalms 23.

The Faculty held elections to elect a new Dean on 15th January, 2015. The two contestants were Prof. Peter Wasamba, the Associate Dean, Faculty of Arts and Prof. Ephraim Wahome, the Chairman, Department of History and Archaelogy.

Faculty Board Members turned in large numbers to vote, while others voted by proxy. About four hundred members took part in the exercise.
